It is illegal to have this oil in Montana? If not, how do I get some to try? Thank you.

A simple Google search will advise you of the law in Montana. I would suggest you phone a dispensary with respect to obtaining oil.

I just wanted to give some insight as to Hemp versus Cannabis. Hemp is cannabis with a THC level of 0.3% or less. From the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance:

“Botanically, hemp is classified as Cannabis sativa L. (Cannabaceae). Cannabis is a diverse plant species including more than 500 different varieties. Marijuana is a distant cousin. Under regulations hemp is defined as having less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Because of this low level, hemp is unsuitable for drug and therapeutic purposes. THC is by the plant’s epidermal glands and is not produced in the hemp seed. All Industrial Hemp grown in Canada is GMO free.”

Rick called it “Hemp oil” because the first Canadian legislation in 1923 referred to it as “Indian hemp”, not cannabis. Unfortunately, this has caused a lot of confusion.

Another thing I’d like to suggest. I appreciate that there are no deaths directly attributable to the intake of cannabis, but one thing that makes me a little nervous when I hear comments about some of the amounts that people take (50 grams of oil), is that others will take a much too large dose (to start) and have a really bad experience – and you can have very bad experiences. I think you need to stress that while you will not die from too high a dose, start slow and build up slowly. Also — it needs to mentioned that if you are on other prescribed drugs, you need to monitor their response when starting oil. BP will drop with cannabis oil, so if one is taking BP meds, they might have to back off a little with their BP meds.
